Hi, I'm a freelance journalist & mum of three. This blog is about my oldest child, Chrissy, who's 29, & has learning disabilities & complex needs. For years the cause of her problems was unexplained. Then 7 years ago we learned that she had a rare chromosome disorder - 1q21.1 microdeletion - & autism. We are on a very late learning curve!

HI, my name is DeLona and recently a child was placed in our home who has 1q21.1 microdeletion. From the day I met him I knew there was ?something? about him. He was delayed in many areas, but it was more than that. I have a few questions that I hope you can answer. If you have a few minutes I would love to ask you a couple of questions.
